At the Hughes home

Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma! (part 2)

I am new at blogging and just trying to figure out how to get the pictures on and they are not in the right order! While we were talking to Kitty, Randy and their boys David showed up

We were so happy to see him, then we heard he had be in the hospital for a blood clot in his leg. It was quite the ordeal and we were glad to see him looking so good!

The day before we left Michael Jackson had died so of course that was one of our topics of conversation. Kitty and her brothers reminisced about the Michael Jackson concert their dad, Brad, had gotten tickets for. Kitty pulled out a shirt she had gotten at the concert and we did a little tribute

Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma! (part 1)

On Friday we began our fabulous Texas vacation!

So with our van packed with a dresser, sewing machine and random other things we headed south on the first leg of our journey!

After driving 13 hours in up to 105 degree weather we arrived at 6 pm at our

niece, Kitty's, house in Oklahoma City.

We were delighted to see everyone!

Kitty has always had a special place in Peter's heart!

Kitty's boys, Caleb, Dame and Ryan were there,

Dane and his wife, Diane stopped by on their way somewhere, We were so excited to hear the news that they are expecting an addition around the first of the year!

Isn't Family Great!

It is always fun to get together with my parents, siblings and families.

The last couple nights have been filled with laughter and fun. (Mom is in the witness protection program)

Another sleepless night

This is becoming a trend! Once again sleep eludes me so I will reminisce about the day. Today was a typical Minnesota summer day, hot, muggy with lots of sunshine! It was a perfect day to spend in the water. With 10,000 lakes in the state we prefer the man made kind for swimming. I am privileged to care for 3 boys during the day. The oldest, Qwerty, is always coming up with new ideas. He loves computers, cooking and wii. Moe, the middle boy, loves action, Legos and swords. LG, (Little Guy) the youngest, is a happy, smiley baby who loves being with his big brothers. Moe is in Pirate camp this week with many of his friends so Qwerty, LG and I went to the local water hole for a dip. LG LOVED the water and spent 2 hours splashing and squealing with delight. Qwerty split his time playing with little bro and the slides. A perfect afternoon!

The evening was delightfully spent with my wonderful family! My brother and family are in town so my siblings and families met at my parents' abode for fun, food and laughter. I hope to brighten future posts with pictures but I am not know for remembering to take pictures!

Can't sleep

I am sitting in my living room unable to sleep. I have thought of starting a blog for some time now and this seems as good as any activity at this time of morning, The birds are up, singing away and I wish I were not! I am awake because of many things, thoughts of the logistics of going to the pool with my "kids", our upcoming trip to Texas, diet, clothes, my relationship with God. So many thoughts scurry through my brain leaving no room for sleep. I think I will try again, there is always hope!
